On a previous post on My Blog I shared a report on California’s Housing Future. The report highlighted the urgent need for Affordable Housing in our community. One way Santa Cruz County is addressing that issue is updating the rules and regulations on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
ADUs, also known as Granny Units or second units, can be built on residential lots that already have a single-family home. ADUs can range from very small or up to 1200 square feet depending on the size of the property and where it is located. They may be a separate house, over a garage, or attached to the main house.
